The aim of this study was to identify the dominant early maladaptive schemas and the efficiency of group-based schema therapy on social phobia of the students. The method of the study was experimental, and its design was pretest-posttest control-group. In order to conduct this study in the identification scheme stage 30, and the treatment stage 16 students who had a social phobia were randomly selected. The subjects were randomized into two treatment (n = 8) and control groups (n = 8). The instruments used were social phobia and young schema questionnaire. The treatment group had 15 sessions (120 minutes) of group schema therapy and the control group had none. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. The results showed that group schema therapy reduces symptoms of social phobia, and emotional deprivation schema reduces abandonment/instability, failure, and sacrifice. In addition, sacrifice, strict standards/hyper criticism, insufficient self-control and self-discipline, social isolation/alienation, deficiency/shame, failure, and entitlement/grandiosity were identified as the most common schema. It seems that group schema therapy could be considered as an effective therapeutic approach in reducing the symptoms in students with social phobia.

In this study a quasi-experimental design with pretest- posttest and experimental and control groups were used. The data gathering instrument was Short Form Health Survey (SF-36). The population of this study included bereaved mothers who had at least 3 months and maximum one year of bereaved history with one standard deviation QOL score below the population mean. By volunteer sampling 18 bereaved mothers were selected and assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. Then, the experimental group received 10 weekly sessions (90 minutes) of intervention. The results of variance analysis showed that the differences between experimental and control groups in QOL score were significant; Thus, intervention improved QOL in bereaved mothers. Results showed that group grief counseling and grief therapy using a religious approach is an effective therapy for improving QOL in bereaved mothers.

The method of this study was quasi experimental with control group. All orphan children and adolescents living in Ardabil welfare organization in 1392 comprised the statistical population of this study (N=83). Forty five people were selected from this society by simple random sampling. Having conducted a clinical interview, they were assigned randomly to three groups of cognitive behavioral coping skills, emotion regulation, and control. All the participants of the three groups responded to the questionnaires related to hopelessness, happiness, and self-esteem at pre- and post-test levels. Collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA test. The results showed that there were significant differences between three groups in hopelessness, happiness, and self-esteem. Results of post hog test showed that cognitive behavioral coping skills and emotion regulation training were effective in hopelessness and happiness equally. But emotion regulation training did not influence self-esteem. Giving orphan children and adolescents have difficult in Natural acquisition of behavioral and emotional skills, necessary for growth, training of Cognitive-behavioral coping skills and emotion regulation can be effective in an increased rate of decline in happiness and hopelessness of these children and adolescent.

The purpose of this study was to survey the effectiveness of linguistic games on phonological awareness of orphans and vulnerable children. A sample of 24 orphans and vulnerable children age 4-5 in foster care was selected. They were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (N=12) or control group (N=12), then the phonological awareness questionnaire) subtest syllabic, phoneme awareness) was distributed. The experimental group received linguistic games in 10 sessions. The data analyses performed by ANCOVA showed that children who had received linguistic games, in the posttest, indicated significant difference in phonological awareness compared with the control group. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended to provide the educational and rehabilitation programs through linguistic game therapy to enhance awareness, phonological, and linguistic capacity of children in care centers, which might be of help in solving reading problems of children in orphanage settings and kindergartens

The research proposal is pseudo- experimental kind, employing pre-test- post-test method with control group. Participants of this study include 240 married students of Farhangiyan University of Babol. The sample includes 100 couples selected by cluster sampling method. Among this population, 20 couples whom both had external locus of control and suffered from marital dissatisfaction, were selected randomly and placed in two groups of control and experimental, having 10 couples in each group. Research tools included locus of control (Rotter) marital satisfaction (Enrich), and Clinical interview. Data were analyzed by the analysis of covariance. The results showed that, teaching intervention based on internal locus of control was effective in increasing marital satisfaction. Therefore, teaching intervention based on internal locus of control can be used as one of the intervention models for couples who suffer from marital dissatisfaction

The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in treating people with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Since one of the prominent features of patients with GAD is the sense of worry, and nature of the worry is focused on future. Training in the present moment by mindfulness which is done by a variety of practical exercises, can be therapeutic for people with GAD. This research was accomplished in the framework of single-case experimental design by using the multiple baseline design. Two patients with GAD who entered the program on the basis of inclusion entry and research qualification, were treated by MBCT. To record the severity of the symptoms, Penn State Worry Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory II, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and GAD-7 scale were used. According to the findings of this study, MBCT reduced the severity of GAD symptoms, worry, anxiety and depression scores. Results of this study showed that MBCT, by using various exercises, could improve patients with GAD

This study examined the impact of religion on mental health with respect to the two self-conscious emotions; shame and guilt. The participants were 286 undergraduate students of Semnan University selected by using multistage cluster sampling method. To assess the research variables, the participants completed three questionnaires: The Test of Self-Conscious Affect-3 (TOSCA-3, Tangney & Al, 2000), Religious Assessment Scale (Glock & Stark, 1965) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). The relationships between the variables were examined by a structural model. The path analysis using LISREL software, showed the mediating impacts of guilt on various aspects of religiosity and mental health. So that belief(16/0=β) , experimental(24/0=β), and ritual(14/0=β) aspects of religiosity positively predicted guilt, and they positively influenced on mental health by mediating this emotion(18/0=β) . No significant relationship was found between shame and aspects of religion, but this emotion(41/0-=β) predicted mental health negatively. Thus, some aspects of religion promote mental health by increasing positive emotions such as adaptive guilt, and others such as maladaptive shame increases the likelihood of mental illnesses and it endangers mental health

The present study was conducted in order to survey the effectiveness of the sand play-therapy, on the behavioral disorders of the children in Kermanshah city.
The methodology used in this study is a semi-empirical method with pre-test and post-test with a control group, and its statistical method is a Multi-variant covariance statistical analysis. The statistical population of this study was the 5-7 year-old children in Kermanshah city with behavioral disorders and the selection method was a random method. At first from the three districts of Kermanshah, 6 kindergartens (2 kindergartens from each of the districts) were selected randomly. Fifty four children with behavioral disorders were identified. Then, according to the inclusion and exclusion conditions for the research, 30 children (10 girls and 20 boys) were selected as the sample group, and were placed in experimental and control groups randomly, with each of these groups having 15 members. The Rather Form Teacher Behavioral Disorder Questionnaires (1967) were answered by the teachers in pre-test and post-test steps and also one month after the completion of the intervention. The children in the experimental groups attended the sand play therapy sessions weekly for 10 sessions (45 minutes for each of the sessions).
The results revealed that, sand play therapy has a significant influence on decreasing the aggressive/hyper activity, anxiety/depression, social conflicts and lack of concentration on the children on the experimental group in comparison to the children in the control group; but it has no significant effect on the conduct disorder. This result was constant for one month. According to the obtained results, it can be said that sand play therapy can have effects on decreasing the behavioral disorders of children, and in this study we have focused on the necessity of using sand play therapy in order to decrease the behavioral disorders in the children having them
