Comparison the relation between the dimensions of perfectionism and social support with academic burnout in students of Allameh Tabatabai University

Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the dimensions of perfectionism and social support in students with high and low levels of academic burnout in 1389. This study was an applied research with survey method. By multi-stage cluster sampling 3outof8colleges were selected randomly.Next300 students were selected randomly. Finally 162 students were selected as the sample. Perfectionism dimensions (1991), social support (1986) and academic burnout questionnaires were applied. Data were analyzed using independent t test in SPSS21. The findings showed that social support and normal perfectionism in students with low academic burnout are higher than students with high academic burnout. There quirements of the educational system, financial difficulties and uncertainety about future cause student’s academic burnout.
