Effectiveness of Group Therapy Based on metacognitive Model of etached Mindfulness on depression and blood pressure in female patients with hypertension

Abstract

The aim of the current research was to investigate the effectiveness of group therapy based on metacognitive model of detached mindfulness on depression and blood pressure in female patients with hypertension. This research is an experimental research with control and experimental groups. The sample comprised, 30 female patients with hypertension were selected by simple random sampling procedure and then randomly assigned to control (15 patients) and experimental groups (15 patients). . Participants were assessed with Beck Depression Inventory and mercury blood pressure measuring equipment. Excremental groups received the group therapy based on metacognitive model of detached mindfulness in 8 sessions (60 min) while the control group was in waiting list control. Data was analyzed by analysis of Covariance. Findings indicate the group therapy based on metacognitive model of detached mindfulness decrease depression and blood pressure of female patients with hypertension.
