Abstract

Executive dysfunction theory in Autism Spectrum Disorders is Basis for many features of this disorders in social and non social areas. The purpose of research was study of response inhibition in children with autism spectrum Disorders using Computerized stroop test. This study was Causal-Comparative Research. Convenient sampling method were Used for selected of 15 boy with autism spectrum disorders who have higher IQ 70 from noore hedaiat specialized autism center in Mashhad. Also, 15 normal children as a comparison group which matched on age and sex were selected randomly from one primary school. In this study to measure response inhibition Computerized stroop test was used. For Data analysis multivariate analysis of covariance and One-way analysis of variance used. results Indicated that there was Significant difference between groups in the Stroop test components. precise assessment of Performance children with autism spectrum disorders compared with normal children Indicated that in correct and error number components in congruent and incongruent stimuli and reaction time component in congruent stimulus was significant differences between two groups and performance of children with autism spectrum disorders in these components were weaker. But these differences in components of reaction time incongruent stimuli and interference score was not significant.
Key words: Autism spectrum disorders, executive function, response inhibition, interference control.
