Effect of group Logotherapy on increasing Mental health of first grade high school boys

Abstract

the of this study was to examine the effect of group logo therapy on the improvement of mental health of first grade high school boys studying in boarding schools of Divandareh in the school year of 1390- 91. A sample of 83 students were selected randomly from the population and among then 20 students were chosen based on their scores in GHQ28 (scores of 23 and above). Subsequently they were assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. A pre test- post test semi- experimental design was used to compare the means of the two groups. Using multivariate analysis for analyzing datarevealed that group logotherapy was effective in reducing corporal symptom, insomnia, social interaction and increasing general mental health of the students. However it did not decrease the depression symptoms finally we can conclude thatgroup logotherapy is effectivein increasing general mental health of dormitory students.
