The effectiveness of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Technique in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Symptoms

Abstract

The main aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Technique on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Symptoms. Three case (two men and one woman) were selected and treated through in hand sampling method. Empirical research with single case study and a multiple baseline was used. Participants in the pre-treatment phase (baseline) and the fourth (during treatment) and the eighth session (end of treatment), completed Obsessive Compulsive Scale - Scale and Maudsley, obsessive compulsive - compulsive Yale - Brown. In addition, 3 month after completion of treatment (follow p), scale, obsessive-compulsive Yale - Brown was completed. The results showed that Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Technique reduces obsessive – compulsive symptoms.
