The Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on Boredom and Marital Commitment in Married Women

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on Boredom and Marital commitment in Married Women
Method: This study was a quasi-experimental research with the pre-test and post-test design. The statistical population was married women in Safashahr with at least one year and at most 15 years of marriage experience, 50 of them were selected by convenience sampling method. They were randomly divided into the experimental and control groups (each group = 25 subjects). Pines' marital boredom questionnaire, Adams and Jones' marital commitment questionnaire, as well as eight sessions of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) were used as the instruments of the study.
