Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the Effects of Mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy Anger Management in cognitive flexibility with the Moderating Role of perceived childhood attachment.
Method: The method of this study was quasi-experimental. The statistical population is all high school male students of the first grade in the academic year of 2015-2016. First, they were randomly selected from one school and then 150 parents' attachment questionnaires were distributed among volunteer students. Finally, 40 students with secure attached (20 students from 32) and insecure attached style (20 students from 29) to both parents were randomly selected and divided into two experimental groups (10 safe and 10 insecure) and control (10 safe and 10 insecure). To collect data, self-reporting tools, the Cognitive Flexibility Questionnaire (CFI) and the Childhood Perceived Attachment (CPA) Questionnaire were used.
Findings: The results of covariance analysis showed that the main effect of group and attachment and the interaction effect of group and attachment were significant (p <0.05). Interaction effect showed that in both secure and insecure groups (especially insecure group), the three subscales of flexibility increased in experimental group compared to control, Which indicates the effectiveness of Mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy of Anger Management on increasing flexibility.
