Abstract

Purpose: In this study, the mediating role of a sense of security in the relationship between self-perfection and perceived stress with life satisfaction was investigated among orphan girls.
Method: In this correlational research design, structural equation modeling was employed and a sample of 150 orphan girls in Sabzevar and Neyshabur was selected by complete enumeration. For data collection, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Psychological Security-Insecurity Questionnaire (PS-IQ) and Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS) were applied. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation method and structural equation modeling in SPSS-26 and AMOS-25 software.
Findings: The results demonstrated that there is a significant relationship between a sense of security and perceived stress with life satisfaction. Further, a significant negative relationship was found between self-oriented perfectionism and community-oriented perfectionism with life satisfaction, but there was no significant relationship between other-oriented perfectionism and life satisfaction. Moreover, the findings revealed that a sense of security mediates the relationship between self-perfection and perceived stress with life satisfaction (p<0.05). If the sense of security increases among people, life satisfaction also increases
